"great hotel - will return"

More than impressed, I was slightly worried after reading a few negative reports. Stayed in a garden bungalow for 4 nights, plenty of room with a large ensuite. Tea making facilities, robes, and comfortable chairs and coffee table add a nice touch.

Excellent location opposite nice beach - short walk to main shops etc. Staff were very friendly and more than happy to help with anything. Didn't experience any mosquitos in the rooms.

Breakfast was excellent although slightly limited choice for westerners - no complaints. Pool was good - good views, plenty of deck chairs (although it was a quiet time of the year), could also use the towels at the beach.

I'm not sure I would have enjoyed it as much if staying in rooms rather than a bungalow - the rooms looked nice but a bit small and basic.

Really enjoyed our stay and when we return to Krabi will definitely stay here again.

We stayed in GBR two times last year. First stay was in bungalow and other in deluxe room. Both are nice and clean, but have quite a lot mosquitoes inside. Of course that is typiccal situation everywhere in thailand, so it is really not big minus. Location is excellent and the view from pool is amazing, There is something, which is not perfect (sometimes lack of pool towels, etc..), but overeall feeling is good. We will go back next week.

After 3 nights in Bangkok it was lovely to stay at a hotel so close to the beach even if its not the greatest beach (very noisy with long tail boats coming and going all day.)

We had a nice welcome and were shown to our twin room (which should have been a double). The room itself was nice, serviced daily, had a good sized balcony and it always felt clean. The beds were reasonably comfy and the air con worked fantastically well.

The pool was very nice although as it was peak season there weren't enough sun loungers as people 'staked their claim' with towels first thing in the morning.

The hotel is located on a pedestrainised street, only a few minutes walk to the main area of ao nang but there a few restaurants very close to the hotel including the hotel one (which we didn't actually eat at despite meaning to!) This meant the hotel was in a quiet area away from the main hussle and bustle.

Breakfast was buffet style and although being pretty much the same every morning the choice was enough so you didn't really get bored.

I would go back to this hotel as it is clean and very modern although its not very cheap.

Located at Ao Nang Beach, and few steps to beach. Just by walking to massage centre with beach view. Walking distance for foods, 7-Eleven, bars and shops for all you want.

People - friendly, pleasant, polite, helpful and english speaking. My flight was re-schedule and allow me to have an hour extra, I manage to get help from reception to call for a pearl seller at Susan Hoi, Shell Fossil (which I brought from her before) to arrange to bring over pearls products for me to choose and tailor made to my desire at the hotel.

Breakfast - you may find western, chinese and local delights... it's all you can eat! yum-yum... enjoying breakfast facing beach.

Pool - Big, clean, good service for dry towel and with safety guard at all time. You may able to swim and enjoying cave view with all nature and green plants around the pool side.

Room - I only good for deluxe room. The room is clean, spacious, clean towels, hot shower with bathtub, facing pool view.

Massage go for Centre No.9 (just walk pass Golden Beach Resort and pass Fisherman Bar) - owner ShaSha, Salima and family. They provide the best service with free manicure for 2 hours massage and free pedicure for foot scrub. Free fruits for pineapple, banana and watermelon too... They treat you like king and queen... you view enjoy massage with beach view and you will definitely go back to them again!

This resort is set in a perfect location, about 10 seconds to the Ao Nang beach and minutes to transport.

The staff are extremely friendly. Our room was cleaned daily (incl change of sheets, towels, etc). The hotel provided two bottles of water every day. The food was great and service fast.

Breakfast was free and awesome: eggs (fried, boiled, scrambled, omelette), sausages, ham, bacon, toast, cereal, juice. fresh fruit, pancakes, tea, coffee, I could go on)........

Pool was great as well. Because we went in low season anyone hardly ever used it, so there were no problems in getting a chair.

The only thing I didn't like is the bed which was extremely hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. But I guess after a couple of nights you get used to it.

All in all, I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

We have just returned fro 10 days at the Golden Beach Resort in Ao- Nang, Myself and my husband and our 21 year old daughter and her friend we had a superb time!. Its a small hotel next to the beach and a two minute stroll to all the bars and restaurants and shops. I would class it as a very good 3 star hotel, very clean, very friendly lovely pool area and good food!.

Right next door to the hotel is the Blooming Masssage Parlour - A MUST!!!!!! 1 hour massage 200bht and quite the best massage in Thailand. The beach in Ao- Nang is not the best by far but we thoroughly enjoyed using the long tail boats every day to visit all the other beaches and lovely little islnds. Considering it was the rainey season we had fab weather only raind twice and that was late evening.

After being at the Maritime in Krabi, this hotel was a breath of fresh air. It is ideally located for you to be able to go out on the long boat taxis to other islands, you have walk around the town and are in an excellent location to get the free bus to the thai boxing on a friday night. The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. The food in the hotel was excellent as well. The blooming massage parlour that is just outside the hotel offers probably the cheapest and best massge myself and my husband had during our time in Thailand.

"Our stay at the Golden Beach"

We stayed at the Golden Beach for the first 5 nights of our July/August 2006 Holiday. We walked into the hotel ourselves and bargained for the rate which ended up being about AUD 57.

We liked the pool area, although the inside of the pool could have been cleaned more often, rooms were nice and cleaned nicely everyday.

We ate by the pool often and always enjoyed our meal, dinner was also nice but very slow, even buying a drink to listen to the music after eating elsewhere took ages.

We like Ao nang so much that we actually changed our plans and came back for the last 6 nights of our 20 day stay.

We also had older teenagers travelling with us and they all were happy to leave Phuket behind after 4 nights and return to the Golden Beach.
